Nien Schwarz was born in the Netherlands and now lives and works in Perth. She has a life-long passion for geography and Earth sciences and is interested in how we analyse, map, and modify the ground beneath our feet to produce consumer goods. Schwarz has contributed to several exhibitions locally and nationally. She currently lectures in Visual Arts in the School of Communications and Arts at Edith Cowan University and contributes to Art Monthly magazine.
