Artist Biographies

Armando Andrade Tudela was born in 1975, Lima, Peru and currently lives and works in Berlin and St Etienne. He studied at Pontifícia Universidad Católica, Lima, Perú, The Royal College of Art, London, and at the Jan Van Eyck Akademie, Maastricht. He is a founding member of artist run space and art collective Espacio La Culpable, Lima, Peru. This year he has presented solo exhibitions at Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona, FRAC Bourgogne and opens his show Salle de Repetition on September 11 at Carl Freedman Gallery, London. Other solos shows include DAAD, Berlin (2009); Ikon Gallery, Birmingham (2009), Frankfurter Kunstverein (2008) and KunsthalleBasel (2008). He is represented by Carl Freedman Gallery, London

Bradford Bailey was born in 1978 in Morristown, New Jersey and currently lives and works in London. He received his MFA from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002 and his BFA form the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2000. He has been included in exhibitions at KS Art, New York; The Hex, London; Brown, London and Thomas Dane Gallery, London.

Jose Damasceno was born in 1968 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he continues to live and work. He studied Architecture at Santa Usula University, and was selected for the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005 before representing his country in the 2007 edition. He has had solo exhibitions at Reina Sofia, Madrid, Projeto Respiração, Fundação Eva Klabin, Rio de Janeiro and Culturgest, Porto, Portugal. Damasceno was included in the XXV Biennale de Sao Paulo in 2002, and the Biennale of Sydney in 2006. Jose Damasceno is represented by Thomas Dane Gallery, London and Galeria Fortes Vilaça, São Paulo and Distrito 4, Madrid.

Natasha Dusenjko was born in 1975 in Melbourne and currently lives and works in Hepburn Springs, Victoria. She completed her BFA (Honours) at the University of Ballarat, a Bachelor in Fine Art (Printmaking) and also and a Bachelor of Design (Graphic Design) at at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT). Solo exhibitions include Babel, Craft Victoria, Melbourne (2009) and Bone Ancestor II at Chameleon Gallery, Hepburn Springs (2008). Dusenjko's work is included in The Material Poem an e-anthology of text-based art and inter-media writing in 2007, edited by James Stuart. She is the recent recipient of a 2010 New Work Grant from the Australia Council for the Arts.

Marita Fraser was born in 1969 in Brisbane and lives and works in Sydney and Vienna. She completed her Bachelor of Visual Arts at Sydney College of the Arts, University of Sydney and completed Master Classes at the Academy of Fine Art, Vienna with painters Heimo Zobernig (2007) and Muntean + Rosenblum (2004). She has an upcoming solo exhibition at Gallery Winiarzyk, Vienna (2010) and has had solo shows at Project James Dorahy Project Space, Sydney (2010 & 2008); Rio, Mop, Sydney (2009); bell street project space, Vienna (2006); Peloton, Sydney (2005). Marita Fraser has undertaken residencies at Artspace, Sydney (2010); Cité International des Arts, Paris (2008) and Sydney College of the Arts, Sydney (2007). Her first solo museum show will open in November at Engen Stadt Museum + Galerie, Germany. Marita Fraser is represented by James Dorahy Project Space, Sydney and WINIARZYK, Vienna.

Joyce Hinterding was born in1958 in Melbourne and live and works in the Blue Mountains. She has exhibited widely in Australia and internationally at museums, galleries and biennales including at Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces, Melbourne (2010); Breenspace, Sydney (2009); The 5th Seoul International Media Art Biennale, Korea (2008); The 2nd Biennial 01SJ, San Jose Museum of Art, California, USA (2008); Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane (2008); IASKA, Fremantle (2008); Phoenix Halle, Dortmund, Germany (2008); The Museum of Contemporary Art Taipai, Taiwan (2007); Foundation for Art and Creative Technology (FACT) Liverpool, UK (2006); Museum of Sydney, Sydney (2005); 26th Bienale de Sao Paulo, Brazil (2004) and 13th Biennale of Sydney (2002). She is represented by BREENSPACE, Sydney.

Bojan Šarcevic was born in 1974 in Belgrade and currently lives in Berlin and Paris. Solo exhibitions of his work have been held at Kunstverein Hamburg, Germany (2008); MAMBO, Bologna, Italy (2008); Bawag Foundation, Vienna, Austria (2007); Kunstverein Heilbronn, Germany (2006); Project Arts Centre, Dublin (2006) and Kunstverein Munich, Munich (2003). He has upcoming solo exhibitions at Stuart Shave/Modern Art, London, UK; Gallery Pink Summer, Genova, Italy; and Le grand Café, St.Nazaire, France. He has also participated in group exhibitions at Tate, St.Ives (2009); Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary, Vienna (2009); ZKM, Karlsruhe (2008); Kunstverein Nürnberg, Germany (2007); Musée Départemental dArt Contemporain de Rochechouart, Rochechouart, France (2007) ; Tate Modern, London (2004). He is represented by Stuart Shave Modern Art, London; BQ, Berlin and Pinksummer, Genova.

David Thomson was born in 1971 in Perth and currently lives and works in Fremantle after being based in London and Sydney. He completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts in Painting at the College of Fine Arts, Sydney, and has since been involved in numerous group shows, residencies, workshops and performances both locally and across Australia including John Curtin Gallery, Curtin University, Perth, Bakery, Perth and Powerhouse Museum, Sydney. He is a 2010 recipient of the Qantas Foundation Encouragement of Australian Contemporary Art Award. Thomson recently held a solo exhibition at Freerange, Perth (2010) and has an upcoming solo exhibition in September at Chalkhorse Gallery, Sydney and will participate in the 2010 Fremantle Print Award at the Fremantle Arts Centre.
