Highly acclaimed Danish artist, Jeppe Hein is widely known for his experiential, interactive and often humorous artworks, which radically combine art, architecture and technical innovation. Hein's surprising sculptures and installations challenge the rules which govern one's behaviour and relationship to art, placing spectators at the centre of interactive sensory experiences.
Jeppe Hein lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark and Berlin, Germany. His works have been shown at the Tate Modern and Hayward Gallery, London; The Pompidou Centre, Paris; PS1, New York; and the Mori Museum, Tokyo. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Art between 1997 and 2003 and at the Städelschule in Frankfurt between 1999 and 2000. In partnership with the 2010 Perth International Arts Festival, PICA presented Hein's first solo exhibition in Australia that featured the much-loved water installation Appearing Rooms. Jeppe Hein is represented by 303 Gallery, New York; Galerei Nicolai Wallner, Copenhagen and Johann König, Berlin.
