PICA's Education Program Manager and four Hatched artists have created a series of workshops to expand you artistic skills and contemporary art experience. Each artist will act as a mentor, providing practical skills development and new ways to work with a range of materials and processes.
Spark your creativity with one of these exciting workshops:
Creating Kinetic Sculpture
with Michal Wojtowicz - Tues 26 & Fri 29 April, 1pm-4pm
Develop creative skills using a variety of tools and materials such as metal, wood and plastic.
Stitch as a Drawing Tool
with Teagan Hunter - Wed 20 & Thurs 21 April, 1pm-4pm
This workshop moves beyond conventional embroidery to investigate how materials in addition to fabric and thread can be used as tools for drawing.
Stand Here to Feel Happy
with Tara Daniel - Thurs 28 & Sat 30 April, 1pm-4pm
Inspired by artist Ken Kronberger's vibrant interactive signs, this workshop will see you creating public artworks in the Perth Cultural Centre.
Surveillance and Mass Media Imagery
with Sohan Ariel-Hayes - Fri 29 & Sat 30 April, 1pm-4pm
Using Adam Adelpour's video work a a catalyst, this workshop will allow participants to capture photographic imagery in innovative ways.
