This work is one of a series connected with astronomical themes, an interest Carson has had over many years. Works in this series (though not this particular painting) have been shown throughout Australia as part of touring exhibitions such as Skylab and Painted Sky. His current touring exhibition, Video Dome continues the circular motif. The paintings appear as if planets or fisheye views of abstract phenomena.
