On the occasion of her solo show at PICA, Natascha Stellmach will present the aftermath of her 2008 project 'Set me Free' where she claimed to have the ashes of Former Nivana lead-singere Kurt Cobain and to smoke them in joint with the public. This long-running project deals explicitly with myth-making and explores the impact conceptual art can have in the mass media by tapping into the obsession with death and celebrity. The documentation and accumulated media hype around this claim are the basis of Stellmach's show in the Westend Gallery.
