Clare Peake
Clare Peake (WA) works across sculpture, installation and drawing to contemplate ideas of mystery and of unknown landscapes that exist not only in the accumulation of tangible knowledge but also in an imaginative state.
Three studies: Landscape is a series of drawings based on ideas of landscape and exploration, a recurring theme in Peake's current practice.
Peake has exhibited in a number of group and collaborative shows across Perth and in Melbourne including The Problem of Explaining the Beginning of Time at Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts in 2010 and Constellations at Fremantle Arts Centre in 2009. She completed a residency at PICA in 2008 and is currently undertaking a residency at the Fremantle Arts Centre, whilst also exhibiting in Remix at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, a survey of Western Australian artists. She received an Advanced Diploma in Visual Arts at Central TAFE in 2004 and completed a Bachelor of Arts at Curtin University in 2006. Peake recently also completed her postgraduate studies in Anthropology at the University of Western Australia.
