J.A. Haught Characters emerge and unravel in this darkly funny physical exploration of human interactions in confinement, set on the twelfth floor of a mysterious institution. Each has their own strategy for survival, from dreams of escape to withdrawal to an interior world; from wrestling for power, to claiming the trappings of official authority. A rich texture of dance, theatre, movement, video and DJ Tr!p's moody electronica make a 'sophisticated and original work' (Canberra Times), that shifts effortlessly from tender, lyrical moments to explosive physicality. It's a fresh and powerful work from Tanja Liedtke, one of the most exciting new voices in Australian contemporary dance, and an ensemble of five hot dancers with an impressive and diverse background including most of Australia's major contemporary dance companies, as well as classical dance, theatre, and circus.
