Objects to Live by: The Art of John Meade

Curator: Zara Stanhope

10 September - 23 October 2010
Central Galleries

John Meade is an established Melbourne sculptor, who has been exhibiting in solo and group exhibitions since the early 1990s. Objects to live by: the art of John Meade focuses on the practice of one of Australia's leading sculptors, but one with little exposure beyond Melbourne and Sydney. The exhibition will survey almost 15 years of this artist's practice and document the evolution of his ideas, working methods and significant works. Few if any recent touring exhibitions have focused on contemporary sculpture, so this project will provide host galleries with a unique opportunity to enhance their audience's knowledge and appreciation of this artform.

This is a touring exhibition which will also travel to Latrobe Regional Gallery, Academy Gallery, Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery, Tamworth Regional Gallery, and Orange Regional Gallery.
