Studio 2 Gian Manik's studio project comprises an inextricable mix of performance, sculpture and painting. His body is at the centre of his work. What we see in his studio is the outcome of his experiential and experimental practice. Artist's statement: Using my own body as a working, performative device, I occupied this studio variously performing, sculpting and painting. During this time the studio became a performative arena. My body was simultaneously a measure, medium, working tool and object. Working from the centre of the studio space I used my body to transcend and span traditional divisions between artist, artwork, space and time.
