Exhibitions - Apply
Applications for the 2010 program have now closed. A call out for applications for the 2011 program will be released in May 2010.
The Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) offers an exhibition program comprised of solo and group exhibitions initiated by PICA's curator, festival projects, our annual Hatched National Graduate Show, touring exhibitions and projects selected from our open call for proposals.
PICA seeks to present work that:
- reflects a contemporary approach;
- is conceptually refined;
- is experimental and innovative;
- pursues new media and ideas;
- exhibits technical innovation and excellence.
Exhibition guidelines
PICA is a unique venue in terms of space and atmosphere. Our ground floor galleries are generally programmed for group shows and our Westend gallery for solo projects. It is suggested that interested artists and curators review our floor plans and current programming to get a better sense of PICA's scale and ambition.
Proposals should include at least the following:
A single page project description detailing the premise of the exhibition, number of participants, mediums to be included, and any other relevant exhibition information
A short CV for the individuals involved in the exhibition (artists, curators, writers), including current contact details where relevant
A list of technical and/or spatial requirements for the exhibition
5 -10 images for proposed solo exhibitions or a minimum of four images per artist for proposed group exhibitions. Images may be in slide format clearly labeled with work details and orientation, or in digital format on CD ROM (jpegs at 72dpi). A show reel and/or appropriate media for multimedia, video or performance work are also accepted.
Artists who wish to submit additional material such as catalogues and reviews may do so. Please include a stamped self-addressed envelope so support material can be returned to you.
